近来抽空从网上找到有关《法国人权宣言》、联合国《世界人权宣言》的法文本、英文本和汉文本。现把其中有关类似于“人人生而平等”这一句的相关条款摘抄如下，可惜不懂法文，英语也只是略通一点。作一比较。

法国人权宣言（1789年）

（法语）

Article premier - Les hommes naissent et demeurent libres et égaux en droits. Les distinctions sociales ne peuvent être fondées que sur l'utilité commune.

（英译）

1、Men are born and remain free and equal in rights. Social distinctions may be founded only upon the general good.

（汉译）

英文本

Article I
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

法文本

Tous les êtres humains naissent libres et égaux en dignité et en droits. Ils sont doués de raison et de conscience et doivent agir les uns envers les autres dans un esprit de fraternité.

汉文本

人人生而自由，在尊严和权利上一律平等。他们赋有理性和良心，并应以兄弟关系的精神相对待。

上述的两篇宣言中，有关人生而自由平等，在英语中用的动词都是born, bear的过去分词。从文中的语气看，联合国的《世界人权宣言》是脱胎于法国的《人权宣言》的，在法语中好像这个词用的都是naissent. 英语中的这一个词和汉语的出生是相近的。不知这两者和《独立宣言》中的that all men are created equal (1776)有没有直接的关系？从时间上看，法国的人权宣言要迟于美国的《独立宣言》。从其中体现出的精神看，应该是有一脉相承的地方的。
